Carbon footprinting for the Kiwifruit supply chain

The total GHG footprint of export grade green and gold kiwifruit was evaluated. The research covered the on-orchard stage for a range of growers, a wide range packhouse/coolstore operators and shipping, through to the European or Asian consumers including consumption and waste stages.  This represented the first such study covering the whole kiwifruit life cycle and is being used to foster common methodology with other international kiwifruit producers.
